Maintenance Systems Specialist
Overview of Responsibilities
The Estates Department manages a large, multi-campus portfolio comprising several sites and a complex built environment. Core activities include new builds, major refurbishments, demolitions, infrastructure upgrades, and both planned and reactive maintenance, supported by a range of advanced tools and technologies.
Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS) are used to plan, schedule, deliver, and monitor maintenance activities. As a Maintenance Systems Specialist, you will support the Property Systems team by providing technical expertise and system support.

Core responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the maintenance, configuration, and development of Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS).
- Manage system documentation, software releases/upgrades, and support user training and adoption.
- Configure and administer user roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure secure, efficient system use.
- Capture, analyse, and report technical data and performance metrics to support high-value contract management.
- Design and implement configuration workflows aligned with best practice standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Resolve system, document, and procedural queries, escalating where necessary.
- Deliver knowledge sharing, guidance, training, and coaching to users and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with UKAEA policies, including health, safety, and wellbeing standards.
- Apply relevant qualifications and experience (EAMS, configuration management, industry standards, integrations, and data tools) to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage complex information.
Qualifications
- HND (or equivalent) in Computing, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (e.g. IBM Maximo, SAP, Mainsaver)
- Strong knowledge of configuration management principles
- Familiarity with industry standards (SFG20, Uniclass, NBS, RICS, ISO 55000)
- Experience managing system integrations (e.g. Facilities IQ, Common Data Environments)
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Data Studio)
