The Role
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As Integrated modeller and scenario developer, you will play a pivotal role in exploiting JETTO core transport code and its integrated models and testing new or upgraded models in JETTO as they become available.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Developing predictive simulations of scenarios for STEP.
- Validating predictive capability of integrated models against experimental data and identifying regimes and regions where model improvement is required.
- Understanding experimental results relating to transport and confinement, e.g. observed confinement scalings, impurity accumulation, variations in observed plasma performance.
- Performing core-edge coupled simulations with JINTRAC

- Experience and knowledge of physics integrated modelling
Desirable (any of these would be an asset):
Experience and knowledge of at least one area of tokamak plasma modelling, one or more of:
- Core turbulent transport models (quasilinear and/or gyrokinetic/gyrofluid codes).
- Edge plasma transport or plasma exhaust transport modelling.
- Heating and current drive, particle sources.
- MHD / ELM / pedestal modelling.
