Change Communications & Employee Engagement Manager – 2 Year FTC

Overview of Responsibilities

This role is based at: Culham, Oxfordshire.

This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) , including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

As Change Communications & Employee Engagement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in planning and leading communications in support of change management programmes across UKAEA – a priority area in our Internal Communications Strategy. You will deliver activities and materials to connect with staff, inspiring them to help drive successful change.  In this role, you will also develop and lead an engagement programme to help our employees understand and feel part of our clean energy mission.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Working as a change communications specialist with colleagues across the organisation including senior executives, project managers, divisional business leaders, People & Culture and Communications Managers. Advising and coaching on how to present change to their teams and overcome challenges.   

  • Developing and implementing messaging to ensure that target audiences understand the changes and what they mean for them. Communications will need to be aligned with wider programmes and corporate messaging and engagement initiatives.   

  • Enhancing UKAEA’s approach to employee engagement, managing a framework of engagement activities that reflect and appeal to a diverse employee base. Activities will likely include overseeing the delivery of action plans, staff communications, events and running engagement surveys.  

  • Leading measurement and evaluation of change communication and engagement projects.  Establishing a ‘listening culture’ with effective two-way communications mechanisms to enable staff to make their opinions heard, reporting insights to senior leaders, and ensuring that actions are implemented and learnings are incorporated in future programmes.
