Who are we looking for?
We have an excellent opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic university students to join our 2023 Year in Industry Programme. We offer excellent opportunities for motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate students to join our 2023 Year in Industry scheme. Our scheme gives you a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of one of the most advanced sources of sustainable and clean energy. During your year long placement with us, you will experience a broad range of diverse tasks, work on real projects, and gain invaluable experience within the fusion energy sector.
About the projects
- Project Title: Design development and maintenance of Software across the software life cycle
- Start Date: 28th August
- Duration: 12 Months
- Location: Culham
Working within our CODAS and IT department you could be involved in a range of projects, including:
- Web development
- Data acquisition systems
- Data management and access APIs
- Realtime control
- Data analysis and visualisation tools
- Monitoring and information systems
To be considered you will need to be undertaking your degree in the United Kingdom within a relevant area and have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the year.
Desirable Aptitudes and Experience:
- Experience of working in a safety dominated working environment.
- Flexible working attitude with the ability to work as an individual or as a team member.
- A logical problem solver.
- Able to produce high quality work to deadlines.
- An excellent working knowledge of English.
- An eagerness to learn new skills and knowledge.
If you have a degree in an area not specified but feel that you could apply your skills to a placement in this discipline, we would still encourage you to apply. We would ask you to demonstrate how your skills would be relevant to the outlined opportunities.
You will need to be self motivated, demonstrate the ability to work well with others, and have an interest in the development of a cleaner energy. Additionally, you will be passionate about self-development and you should have a proactive approach to your work with an enthusiasm to achieving your full potential.
What is the recruitment process?
All applications will be initially reviewed by our hiring teams and then passed on to Project leads. If shortlisted, you will be contacted by a member of the recruiting team to arrange a short telephone interview.
