Overview of Responsibilities

Who are we looking for?

An exciting opportunity has risen to be part of the ambitious STEP (Spherical Tokamak of Energy Production) programme. The Department is looking for a Programme Administrator to provide professional and focused Administration support to the STEP Department to provide PA support to the STEP Executive Team, diary and inbox management. The Programme Administrator will work cohesively with the STEP administration team reporting to the Facilities & Business Support Manager to manage programme information and correspondence effectively, ensuring confidentiality and discretion. As a Programme Administrator, you will work on various tasks which will include inbox and diary management for the Executive Team, booking travel, keeping databases up to date, arranging meetings and proving wider departmental support.

You will need to be detail oriented with administration experience and the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly. You will possess a discrete and professional approach to work and must be able to manage data confidentially. You will be liaising with a number of internal and external stakeholders, therefore exceptional interpersonal skills are key. Confidence and experience in the use of Microsoft Office is also required, so if this sounds like the role for you, please apply below!

What will you be responsible for?

  • Professional administrative / secretarial support to staff in department 
  • Support to the Programme Executive Team including diary and inbox management 
  • Working cohesively with the STEP administration team reporting to the Facilities & Business Support Manager 
  • Organising UK and international travel arrangements 
  • Organising events 
  • Arranging meetings, writing up minutes as well as chasing of outstanding actions 
  • Managing programme information and correspondence effectively, ensuring confidentiality and discretion
£23,464 to 25,030 + excellent benefits including outstanding pension
