Overview of Responsibilities

Who are we looking for? 

We are looking for a self-motivated  and enthusiastic Lead Electrician with good communication skills and ability to adapt to new situations and challenges.  As a Lead Electrician you will undertake a wide range of electrical work in an industrial environment covering installation, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance and repair in accordance with current legislation and codes of practice. You’ll supervise and lead a small team of electricians on allocated projects and mentor assigned electrician apprentices through to qualification.  

 What will you be responsible for? 

  • Supervise the daily work and mentor and support the training of 2 UKAEA electrician apprentices
  • Responsible for the installation phase of various projects ensuring Safe Systems of Work are followed and timescales are adhered to
  • Work with diverse teams across site with the ability to prioritise daily tasks and allocate work to team members according to the appropriate work plan for each project
  • Install indoor and outdoor electrical distribution equipment in compliance with current regulations and local standards
  • Undertake the construction, wiring and commissioning of electrical control cubicles
  • Perform testing, commissioning and fault-finding tasks on various electrical control and distribution equipment
  • Maintain high standards of safety and comply with safety procedures at all times
£29,799 to £31,661 (inclusive of MPP) + excellent benefits including outstanding pension
